CIMSPA degree endorsement first for Loughborough College




These are the first blended learning and distance learning courses to be endorsed against our professional standards.

The BA (Hons) Sport Management (Blended Learning) and BA (Hons) Distance Learning Sport Management Top-Up Degree are now aligned against the CIMSPA Entry Manager Professional Standard.

Endorsed degree programmes are certified as meeting employer-set professional standards – an employability benchmark that makes clear the job roles a student completing the programme is qualified for.

Both endorsed degree programmes allow for distance learning, with the added element of work experience, allowing those who wish to work whilst they study the ability to gain a qualification alongside real-world experience. This provides a great opportunity for those who want to study flexibly, are entering the sector later, as a career change or even just enhancing their skills.

The ‘top-up’ option, also the first to be endorsed by CIMSPA, provides an opportunity for those who want to fill skills gaps, to do so with the confidence that their qualification and further study have been aligned with the sector’s minimum deployment standards.

Loughborough College are one of our newest higher education partners but have already demonstrated a great commitment to consistently increasing the employability potential of their graduates, realising a shared vision for a recognised and respected sector and providing flexible learning options to meet the needs of CIMSPA employer partners.

Victoria Harris, Course Manager: BA (Hons) Sport Management (Blended Degree), welcomed the new endorsement, stating: “The endorsement of our BA Hons Sport Management Blended Learning Degree by CIMSPA further validates the course as an industry recognised qualification that not only equips people with the essential skills for working in sport, but also enables people currently working in the sector to formalise their professional experience.

“In addition, the CIMSPA endorsement supports the importance of a blended learning approach to degree study, as it provides the perfect combination of online and face to face learning, which is ideal for those balancing their studies alongside other professional or sporting commitments.

“The endorsement by CIMSPA also recognises the importance of understanding the operations of finance, human resources, leadership and quality assurance within the sport industry, all of which support participants on the course to build their leadership and management capabilities – returning tangible benefits to their employers.”
